what is the difference between c kelp and kelp for dogs?
ok i am getting kelp for my dog who has allergy's and it helps dogs with allergy's and to boost the immune system
my vet said that this would help her out alot so i went on line to pet supplys 4 less .com
and they are two types kelp in a 1 pound pail and c kelp in pills what is the diff?
I dont think there is a difference, I think "c kelp" is a brand name. As there are others called Kelp Help and just plain kelp and the ingredients are the same in all. Some websites offer the c kelp in pills or bag or pail, it just depends where you look.
Pet Kelp
The key ingredient in our dual action supplements for dogs and cats is our unique blend of ocean kelp. Kelp, a class of seaweed, is considered to be one of the most nutrient-rich plants on the Earth. Kelp continuously filters and bio-accumulates nutrients from the surrounding cold productive ocean water. Kelp living in pristine ocean water produces the highest nutrient content (70 vitamins and minerals). While containing a large number of vitamins, kelp is best known for containing a full panel of trace minerals. Minerals perform many key functions in animals including regulating energy, aiding digestion, and are a vital ingredient in immune, skin, and bone systems. Dietary minerals are essential to maintaining the health of any dog or cat. Veterinarian nutritionists recommend kelp as a holistic source of the essential nutrients pets require. Pet Safe Fertilizer
Article by Tracy Ballisager
If you worry about your pet safety with traditional fertilizers on your lawn or garden, you're not alone. Many pet owners now look to a more natural product for lawn care and gardening either because their pets consume the grass or other delectable munchies in the garden or the potential for absorption through the skin is great. Either way finding pet safe fertilizer is important. Let's face it; Fido and Kit Kat are part of the family. You want to protect them as you would any family member.
Look For Eco Friendly
Each year there are thousands of poisonings called into the Animal Poison Control Center from garden mishaps involving toxic pesticides, weed killer, fertilizer and even toxic plants. You can prevent the stomach upset and potential damage caused by these fertilizers if you take time to read the labels on the packaging. Most of the hazardous or semi-hazardous fertilizers have a warning label for children and pets.
Using eco friendly natural fertilizers can help you avoid problems. Of course, you still should read the labels for warnings. Just because it's natural doesn't mean there are potentially harmful ingredients.
Manure
While a top dressing of manure or manure tea may be one of the best fertilizers, many dogs find the odor attractive and roll in the scent to their heart's content. Even though this type of fertilizer is pet safe, you may not want to invite Fido back into the house without a good bath first.
Corn Gluten
You can use corn gluten on your garden or lawn and it works effectively as a fertilizer or herbicide. Corn gluten is a by-product of corn syrup and cornstarch. Most garden stores sell it in 40 to 50 pound containers. You can find it in either pellet form or ground to a granular form. It contains nitrogen so essential to the growth of plants. Because it's an organic fertilizer, it slowly releases the nitrogen giving a constantly steady supply.
Kelp and Fish Tea
You'll find some fertilizers that have a base of kelp. Kelp is a form of seaweed that makes up the oceans "forests." It contains multiple nutrients, such as vitamins, enzymes and minerals. In fact, it's one of the best ways to boost both lawns and gardens. For those that live near the ocean, you can simply pick up kelp and add it to your compost pile or make a kelp tea from it. Kelp tea is the water remaining after soaking a smaller amount of kelp. The water leaches out the nutrients after several days and then you simply use the water as a fertilizer for your garden. You can do the same thing by putting a fish in a bag and lowering it into a bucket of water for several days.
Blood Meal
Another kid and pet safe fertilizer is blood meal. It's nothing more than dried blood. Many times, you'll find it mixed with other ingredients such as bone meal. While it's an effective way to add nitrogen to the soil, too much can burn your vegetation since it decomposes rapidly. However, if you have a compost pile and want to help get it cooking, it's ideal.
Grass Clippings.
Grass clippings can also be a great source of fertilizer, just like ground dried leaves, there's no potential for a pet disaster with these types of fertilizers.
