Is it even possibe to get answers from the pet zone without rudeness?
During my time on Y!A I have asked simple questions about pets and posted them. They're weren't trolled. Just wanting tips and ideas and a little medical help. I also noticed the same with out askers. Everyone seems to get SEVERAL answers including rudeness saying, "You aren't ready for a pet if you're asking this." I'm starting to think they need to close down the pet section, or make a seperate section for "pet parents and experienced pet owners."
Medical questions need to be addressed by a VET...not a bunch of strangers online. How do YOU know who is answering
And by the way...before I got my dog and went on here to ask questions...I spent about a year researching, talking to other dog owners and reading....
I didnt come here AFTER the fact and asked "Wut do I do with my new Germen Shepard pappie"...without even learning how to spell the BREED of the dog that I NOW OWN correctlyYes, if you ask a question that deserves an intelligent answer, you will usually get one.
I see from your asked questions that you got lots of sensible answers to your questions, and a couple of "trollish" ones.
I'd say you were being treated better than average, so what's your problem?I'm not sure.
Even the well stated and intelligent questions seem to get the odd "you're stupid" whatever rants because some people have their heads too far up their a$ $ es
However, some questions truly deserve the crap storm that comes their way.
Questions such as
"My dog was hit by a car and bleeding, what should I do?"
Or
"I want to breed my pure bread labradoodle to a yorkitzu"
Clearly, these people should have enough sense to not ask such questions.
I have yet to see "you are not ready for a pet" however, I have seen, and agreed with "you are not ready to breed if you are asking this on here" many timesThis coming from the person who suggested to a child who's parents had gone out and bought her a 6-7 week old pup from some bad breeder that rather than going to the vet because they are expensive they should go to the feed store and buy the vaccines there and do them.
But hey you've only had a done that is probably infested with worms for what a few days now?
Seriously no one makes you or anyone else who doesn't like the answers on here stay.
And yes anyone asking about what dog breed is CUTEST is probably not ready for the responsibility of a dog.
Also unless its a very MINOR health issue that can be handled at home no one should be asking medical q's on here. People leave out details all the time not to mention without a FULL medical history on the animal and you know actual veterinary experience no one can diagnose anything on the site.
Classic example are the "is my dog pregnant" ones. This is a world-wide forum, with users as young as 13 (younger, actually, although they are not supposed to be here.)
Im not sure why you would expect polite, adult answers from everyone on such a forum, but if you are thin-skinned, then you are probably in the wrong place.
FYI, I think being called a "pet parent" is rude. I gave birth to children, not animals.
