How To Care For Your Pet Bird.
Am i bad at taking care of a pet?
Just a question,
I got 3 hamster at the same cage, all of them are kiddo hamsters (not near maturity) , Their name is Blaster,Mikki and Whitey,
Whitey has a wet tail, i had taken him to the vet but the vet is out of town (cuz it was near holidays), In our place its hard to find any hammy products (hammy is not popular in our place), I always thought of buying a dri tail product in ebay, but it would take time.. I know that Wet tail is a kind of diarrhea so I went to the nearest pet shop and bought a LC-Scour, a diarrheal medicine for cats and dogs. Bought a syringe and oral feed whitey the medicine, (about 0.3ml), The wet tail problem was gone, at first i thought he was goin to die, but after the medication he was feeling well right now.
And now for Blaster and Mikki, they are always fighting, (Cuz the cage is small and they are both syrians) So i had thought about putting 2 tissue tubes inside the cage, and when they are about to fight one of them always hides in the tube.. Is this a good idea?
Any problems taking care of my hamster?
*Yeah the owner of the petshop told me that i can put it in the same cage.
*So should i remove the one who cause trouble(Which is blaster, cuz Mikki is always squealing),
*And If they got matured how should i breed them?
P.S. The petshop owner told me that syrian hamsters are better than dwarf cuz dwarf are always fighting...
-Also its my first time taking care of a pet :>
Hamsters are not supposed to live together, expecially ones of the same sex.Well, your Syrians really should be in separate cages. I don't see how it could have been a good idea to put them together, especially in a small cage, when you know that Syrian hamsters fight. They prefer to live alone.well, i dont have much experince with hamsters, but under my perspective, its prolly not you, it could me anything, sickness, care [not saying it is you] but im just saying nothing impossible, try to find another vet or go to a petshop and ask some questions.
Have a great day,
Hayhay & BubblesI agree with the 1st answer-- also you're not a bad owner at all if you did all you could to help and it did. So i would have to say you are very good at taking care of pets! WTG!Syrians really arent social animals... maybe males are okay to be kept together but i wouldn't think so.
(If you were told this by a pet shop then definately double check, they told me i could keep three mice together and i ended up needing three different cages! - not all stores have a clue what they're talking about!)
Apart from that it seems like they're doing good, you were lucky that the medication worked, next time i'd double check online (Maybe you did but you didn't mention it) as some medications, most infact, are very dangerous for the animal not on the packet!
Toilet roll tubes are always good for hamsters, all the rodents i've owned have loved them, they can chew the and play in them, but with three hamsters in one cage you want to look in to something a bit more robust, unless your family goes through an inordonate amount of TP!
Hiding is also most likely just the smaller/weeker/less dominate one trying to avoid the fight, if you can i would look in to seperating them if the fighting continues. Just remove the one which causes it and see how things go, you may be fine keeping the others together...
EDIT:
Usually the dwarfs are okay to keep together, your pet store worker was probably just misinformed.
Remove the one causing trouble, if the others are okay together it may be okay... but be prepared to have three different cages!
They're all male right?
You're doing a good job, misinformation isn't your fault. It's a learning process anyways. The first pet is always a tough one!

How You Can Assist Your Dog's Dental Troubles
"Allow your dog to be familiar with oral care products such as Plaque Attack especially the touch of toothbrush on his mouth. Always choose products that are made for animal use alone. Toothpaste and oral care products for humans contain dangerous ingredients that can harm your pets.
"Avoid using hard toothbrush immediately. You can start by utilizing your fingers to brush your dog's teeth and when he is already comfortable with the act, use an unique toothbrush for dogs to clean his teeth.
"Coach your dog to get into the pattern of toothbrushing. After you were able to get your dog adapted with the texture of toothbrush and the taste of toothpaste, introduce him to the actual act of brushing the teeth. Start with the front canine. If he is accustomed to it, add more teeth until all his teeth are covered. Make an everyday practice.
"You can also utilize Plaque Attack and clean your dog's teeth effectively if you would talk to a vet. A vet would give you advice on how you can improve your dog's oral health state.
